Ördögkatlan Festival
The Ördögkatlan Festival has been welcoming visitors every year since 2008. This festival is not just an event among others. With its diversity, the Hungarians display cultural and artistic richness in this region. The venue is located in Baranya county, Nagyharsány, Kisharsány, Vylyan Winery, Mokos Winery, Szársomlyó Sculpture Park, Beremend and Villánykövesd.
The concept of the festival and the resulting goals have remained essentially unchanged since the first Ördögkatlan opened by Tamás Cseh in 2008:
-to display the cultural and artistic richness of Hungarians in the region;
-a cultural community, linguistic and cross-border cult community created by artists (and visitors) from all over the world for five days in the small villages of Baranya, ie for five days the Ördögkatlan should be one of Europe’s quality cultural centers;
-to help economically-mentally-culturally the rise of the given settlements (Nagyharsány and its surrounding area);
-make this region touristically more attractive;
-to become a joint Croatian art festival of Baranya involving other settlements, to present the common, multicultural values of historic Baranya on the European tourism market within the framework of unified tourism products,
-create an unavoidable artistic event that will make the region one of the centers of cultural tourism.
About 25-30,000 people visit the festival every year.
